The Story Behind alo

The starting point of alo was my grandmother’s kimono.

They did not exist in my daily life from the beginning.
They came to me later, after my aunt moved and the kimono were brought into our home.

Before that, I only knew my grandmother through stories shared by my family.
What kind of person she was, how she chose her kimono, and how she lived.

When I finally saw and touched them,
I realized they were not simply garments.

They are records of taste, time, and personal history.

Each piece carries a quiet presence,
holding memories that cannot be reproduced.

There is another part of my story that shapes alo today.

I worked as a store manager in department stores in Hyogo and Osaka,
where I was surrounded by international brands, products, and customers every day.

Through those experiences, I learned to observe carefully.

What makes something chosen.
What kind of atmosphere and words move someone’s heart.
What truly holds value beyond appearance.

These were not things learned from theory,
but through real interactions, day by day.

From my grandmother, I found a sense of beauty.
From my grandfather, I inherited the ability to act and explore.
From my own experience, I developed an eye for value.

All of these come together to form alo.

True beauty is not only seen,
but remembered and carried forward.

alo is not just about kimono.

It is about preserving beauty,
giving it form,
and carrying it into the future.
