A Summer Day with Shibamaru, So-chan and Ruu|Garden Play and a Walk Together

Original Shiba Inu and dachshund art featured on the Dog Art from Japan Instagram account alo-wear

This summer, So-chan and Ruu went to visit Shibamaru, a gentle white Shiba Inu.

The original plan was very simple.

We were just going to bring Shibamaru some treats.

But Shibamaru’s family kindly invited us into the garden, and what started as a quick visit turned into a lovely summer afternoon with all three dogs.

So-chan and Ruu immediately started running

The moment So-chan and Ruu entered the garden, they were thrilled.

They ran from one side to the other, full of energy and excitement.

The garden quickly became their playground.

Meanwhile, Shibamaru reacted very differently.

Shibamaru watched from a little distance

Shibamaru did not rush into the middle of the action.

Instead, he stayed slightly away from So-chan and Ruu and calmly watched them run around.

That is very much like Shibamaru.

He is clever, gentle, and a little reserved.

Rather than jumping into everything immediately, he often observes what is happening around him first.

The personality we describe in SHIBAMARU is not a fictional character setting.

This is simply what Shibamaru is really like.

Then we all went for a walk

After plenty of garden play, the timing was perfect for a walk.

So we headed out together with Shibamaru, So-chan, and Ruu.

There was only one small problem.

So-chan and Ruu had already spent a lot of energy running around the garden.

Before long, they were riding comfortably in their dog stroller.

Shibamaru, on the other hand, continued walking beside them.

Shibamaru definitely has longer legs

So-chan and Ruu are Miniature Dachshunds.

Shibamaru is a Shiba Inu.

When the three of them are together, the difference in leg length becomes very obvious.

Shibamaru’s normal walking pace feels much longer and faster compared with the two Dachshunds.

After all that running in the garden, the stroller was definitely the right choice for So-chan and Ruu.

The sight of Shibamaru walking beside the stroller made for a slightly funny but very sweet group walk.

And of course, we finished with treats

After the walk, it was time for treats.

The dogs had played, walked, and enjoyed the outdoors.

Then everyone had a snack before it was time to go home.

Shibamaru is usually calm and reserved.

But when treats are involved, things become a little more exciting.

That part of his personality was very clear that day too.

A simple summer memory with three very different dogs

What started as a quick visit to bring Shibamaru some treats became a full summer memory.

So-chan and Ruu ran around the garden.

Shibamaru quietly watched them.

Then all three went for a walk together.

Their personalities are completely different, and that is exactly what makes spending time with them so fun.

We hope to keep sharing these small, real moments between So-chan, Ruu, and Shibamaru.

The real Shibamaru behind SHIBAMARU

SHIBAMARU is inspired by the real white Shiba Inu you see in these stories.

Clever, gentle, slightly reserved, and always interested in a good treat.

Alongside the Japanese Art Collection, SHIBAMARU also features simple designs inspired by Shibamaru himself.

Walk through Japan with Shibamaru.

And sometimes, with So-chan and Ruu too.
