Preserving Japanese Culture Through My Grandmother’s Kimono

alo is a personal cultural project inspired by my grandmother’s kimono collection.

Through articles, digital publications, and visual archives, I aim to preserve and share the beauty of Japanese culture with people around the world.

What I Do

Grandmother’s Kimono Archive

I document and archive kimono and obi that once belonged to my grandmother.

Through colors, patterns, techniques, and personal stories, I hope to make Japanese culture more accessible to future generations.

Kimono Culture Articles

I create beginner-friendly articles about:

  • Kimono types
  • Obi
  • Seasonal customs
  • Kimono colors
  • Traditional textile techniques
  • Japanese cultural knowledge

My goal is not simply to explain kimono, but to help people enjoy and appreciate the culture behind them.

English-Language Publishing

Many of my articles are also available in English.

By sharing Japanese culture beyond Japan, I hope to create a welcoming introduction for people who are curious about kimono and traditional arts.

AI-Assisted Website Management

I use AI tools to help organize information, improve website structure, and create educational content.

This allows me to continue building a growing cultural archive while working independently.
